
Mr. Román is a Certified Public Accountant. His practice is concentrated in the areas of corporate law, commercial and real estate transactions, tax law, construction law, employment law and general civil and commercial litigation.
He counsels employers in a broad range of employment law issues, including employment contract, compliance with wage and hour laws, employment discrimination, against retaliation and other employment claims; preparation of employee handbooks, and personnel policies and procedures.
Mr. Román has successfully litigated general civil and commercial law suits, and employment discrimination and unjust termination lawsuits for employers. He also represents employers in different matters and administrative proceedings before the Puerto Rico Department of Labor and the State Insurance Fund Corporation. He also counsels clients on corporate matters such as business registration and compliance with government requirements to organize and maintain their business operations in Puerto Rico. He also frequently acts as a Notary Public on complex business and estate matters.
